What Mixmatch Color Was Facing
Mixmatch Color's online paint and decor store had a significant confidence gap — customers couldn't visualise how colours would look in their space, leading to hesitation and abandonment. Return rates were high because purchases didn't match expectations, and the product page experience offered no tools to bridge the imagination gap between swatch and room.
The Solution
What We Built
We designed an in-browser room visualiser that let users upload a photo and see paint colours applied in real time. The product page was restructured to lead with the visualiser as the primary interaction, with purchase options appearing after engagement. A colour matching tool was introduced for users who knew what they liked but couldn't name it. The checkout was redesigned to reduce cognitive load at the moment of financial commitment.
